AC Synchronous Motors

The synchronous motors for single-phase operation (SE) and three-phase or frequency converter operation (SD) are characterised by an absolutely constant speed at loads below the torque. In this operating mode, it depends only on the mains or inverter frequency. In frequency inverter operation, any constant speed can be set, thus providing a cost-effective alternative to complex 4Q-controlled servo drives in many cases.
