Challenge
A cost-effective solution was required for the precise control of valve positions, which would efficiently drive a 250 W brushless DC motor (BLDC). The challenge was to integrate the electronics directly into the drive and place the encoder on the circuit board to save space and costs.
Drive solution
Antrimon developed a customised solution with the following features:
- BLDC motor with integrated electronics
24–48 V DC, 250 W (peak 400 W), 12 A (peak 24 A). - Integrated SinCos encoder
Single-turn absolute encoder on the circuit board. - I/O-controlled valve positioning
Control via digital and analogue inputs, monitoring of end positions via I/O signals, 5x digital, 1x analogue input, and 3x digital output - Programmable functions
Current limitation, temperature measurement and customer-specific processes can be programmed directly on the drive, as well as various analogue and digital inputs.
Result
The developed solution enables efficient and cost-effective control of valve positions. The integration of the electronics and the encoder minimised the space required and reduced production costs. The compact design (Ø 54 x 18 mm) facilitates integration into various applications.
