With our modern infrastructure in the area of laboratory and standard tests, we support you in carrying out your test procedures. The focus is on our investigative tests during mechatronic product development in our in-house laboratory.
Our engineers develop suitable test procedures, construct test benches and provide you with comprehensive support during your product tests.

Environmental simulations

With the combination of various test rigs and custom-fit environmental simulations, our experts analyse the suitability for the intended locations and uncover any weak points. 

In the test room, temperature and humidity can be controlled over a wide range and complex test cycles are possible. The actual or assumed stresses are intensified so that a meaningful result can be achieved within an acceptable test period. 

On our vibration test stand, we perform sine tests, noise tests and shock tests and simulate typical stresses that can result from storage, transport or operation of products. 
In addition to functional tests, optical examinations using endoscopes and microscopes are also carried out.

Lifetime tests

Frequently recurring loads are a limiting factor for product life. Switches and control panels must withstand thousands of actuation cycles without their function suffering. 

Our lifetime tests determine exactly this behaviour. We offer two different test procedures that are ideally suited for testing a wide variety of products under controlled conditions. The translation endurance test bench can actuate products in a straight line according to a programmable procedure curve (maximum force 60N) and document the associated force curves. 

The rotational endurance test stand enables the measurement of individual torques and the running of endurance tests (max. torque 50Nm).

In combination with the video camera, the test item behaviour can be recorded optically and time-synchronously.

Optical analyses

We offer a wide range of optical measurements, examinations and analyses.

  • Luminance measurement to analyse the visual appearance of display elements and contrast measurements
  • High-speed analysis for recording processes that are not visible to the human eye
  • 2D motion analysis for analysing kinematic processes in machines or for optimising complex mechanisms
  • X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) for microscopic elemental analysis. Tiny surface areas or particles can be combined with superimposed "element maps" to form a meaningful whole
  • Scanning electron microscope (SEM) for images of sample structures in high detail that can no longer be resolved with light
  • Optics simulations for the design of illumination, light guide elements and optical systems. With the ray-tracing simulation software (SPEOS), we create your specific and individual lighting design

Finite Element Method (FEM)

With the help of the finite element method, we quickly and cost-effectively check fundamental questions about functional fulfilment. Can the construction withstand the load and is the deformation within the permissible range?

The component geometry can be read in directly from CAD programs and processed further. The virtual prototypes help to save development time and costs well before the actual production, as possible design errors can be detected and avoided beforehand and the component properties can be optimised.

Acoustics & Frequency Measurements

At our measuring station we clarify questions about acoustics & sound design.

Using our high-quality measurement chain and powerful analysis software, we supplement the subjective interpretation of noises and sounds with quantitative evaluations and visualise noises and sounds.

This makes it possible to determine whether, for example, the actuation noise of a switch has changed due to modifications in the development process and whether the "acoustic signature" of the product remains the same within series production.
